African Methodist Episcopal Church

Welcome to our website!
God has placed in the heart of the African Methodist Episcopal Church to establish a men's ministry within each level of the church, from the local to the Presiding Elder's District, to the Annual Conference, to the Episcopal District, to the Connectional Church. This ministry is to develop a men's fellowship (both clergy and lay) which will seek to address the needs for distinctive ministries for men who are faced with spiritual, social, political and psychological challenges, to equip men to follow the example of Andrew (St John 1: 41-42) who brought Peter to Jesus.
Some of our objectives are to:
lead men to an acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
organize men into units and empower them to meet men's needs in such areas as Evangelism and Stewardship.
teach men to witness their faith in daily living, such as in the workplace, the community, and the home.
encourage men to engage in outreach and service as a part of Christian servanthood.
seek resources and support for men as husbands and fathers.
empower men to serve as role models to young men and to develop youth
encourage men to share in ecumenical relations.
It is our hope that this website will somehow pique your interest in either seeking a relationship with Jesus Christ or strengthening your relationship with him. And if you are a man, help us in developing and operating ministries in Alabama that will help those in need of vital spiritual, social, political and psychological support.
If you have not confessed Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, here are excerpts of what the Apostle Paul said in his letter to the Romans in chapter 10.
Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.... For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness,... have not submitted to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes…. But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way,… that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Please contact us and let us help you reach an understanding that will hopefully lead you to your confession. See contact page for contact information.
If you have confessed Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, then help us to be a blessing to your brothers. It is a good thing to help someone in this struggle called life. In your walk of life you will meet people that need help in various ways and you will find that you can’t do all that is needed because of limited resources. You may not have the knowledge, finances, physical strength, or even the desire (motivation) to provide the help needed. But, in the fellowship of the men’s ministry, together we can do more. So come and be a part of the Sons of Allen to strengthen our men’s fellowship to do more.
The Sons of Allen seek to encourage men to emulate the resolute and redemptive spirit of Richard Allen, our revered, ancestral patriarch who in negotiating for his freedom with slavemaster Stokely Sturgis, negotiated freedom for his unnamed brother as well; and to encourage men to implement ministries modeled by our founder, Richard Allen as he sought to meet needs in his community.
Come help us establish needed ministries for our time, as Bishop Richard Allen did in his time. You don’t have to be a member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church to be a part of this ministry. You can join any local unit at one of our AME Churches without having to join the church. Although our hope is, that if you are not part of our Christian community already, that you will join that local church and become a new disciple for Christ.
If you are already a part of a ministry that is trying to help, come let us partner to fill the needs of our communities. We are family!

Mission Statement:
To encourage men and boys that are not practicing Christian faith to believe and serve God through the Word of God, Jesus Christ.
To put our faith into action in serving as men should: taking care of the Widows and Orphans as Christ commanded per James 1:27 (Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.)
Goal:
1. Encourage participants in their efforts to introduce Christ to their brothers
and youths beyond the local church facility.
