Youth Career Symposium

St. John's Sons of Allen sponsored a Youth Career Symposium for high school & college students on Saturday, September 23, 2017 held in the Christian Life Center. The symposium was held to assist high school & college student with their career choices and jump start their future. Dr. Craig J. Boykin (motivational speaker & author) was the keynote speaker bringing the message of the importance of getting an education and inspiring the youth in attendance to reach for their goals. Representatives from the Family Guidance of Alabama's Work Ready! Program interacted with the youth regarding work related issues & gave an overview of computer softwares used by many jobs such as Microsoft intensive softwares. St. Johns SoA adult members gave presentations on trends of today's job market & managing time and money. St. John's youth presented skits written by one of St. John's young Sons of Allen members depicting undesirable vs. desirable job interview behaviors. Each youth in attendance received a certificate of community service for attending the symposium.
